The Labyrinth by krysdecker The Labyrinth by krysdecker
So, this is the cover for his 2nd book The Labyrinth.

Theres a whole idea behind this crazy image, and by reading the book you understand it =p ... but i have to say it was quite a challenge to make this hourglass and this hand ..

From someone that doesnt read anything bellow Bernard Cornwell, i have to say, he's quite good .. even the small sample got my attention fully and well ... i believe thats enough.

If you like good books, modern fantasy, or just a good reading i fully recomend stoping by the books website and taking a look at them.

Stunning work. I'm especially in awe of the wood grain.

I love how the textures here work, plus the lighting makes it look believable enough to want to touch it.

What was the hardest about the hourglass, if you don't mind me asking?

Seems like the glass gets a lot of people. You never really stop to think about it, but getting reflections and lighting right helps sell it.

I never figured it until I worked on a 3d perfume bottle. I haven't tried coloring it in photoshop yet, but looking at this makes me want to give it a try.

In the end it all turned out superb for you here. You even got that round perspective of the people wrapping around the hour glass. Not an easy task.
